Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops

Sponsored Post: this post is sponsored by Dorot but the content and opinions expressed are my own.

These Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops are the perfect easy and healthy summer treat! Similar to store-bought creamsicles, these dairy-free pops are full of creamy orange goodness with an elevated taste from the ginger. They’re a tasty summer dessert without the guilt!

To me, warmer weather means BBQs and pool time! I remember being in the pool for hours when I was young splashing around with my sister and cousins.

When we’d get out, we were always ready for some popsicles. One of my favorites was Orange Creamsicles. Thinking back, those orange popsicles, while tasty, were probably full of artificial flavorings and colors. I mean how would they get those pops to be so orange without orange coloring?

This summer I have made it a point to make all my own popsicles (like these Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops) with healthy and tasty ingredients which everyone can enjoy!

Speaking of great ingredients, let’s talk a little about Dorot – one of my go-to products for easy cooking.

No Mess, Easy to Use Dorot Products

Dorot is one of those products that makes life in the kitchen easier. Although I share lots of recipes, I’m not one of those people that enjoy spending a whole day in the kitchen.

I like easy and healthy recipes. Anything that can make my cooking less complicated, I’m all in.

Dorot has a number of products in their line: crushed ginger (which I use in my tasty Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops), chopped basil, crushed garlic, chopped cilantro, and chopped parsley.

Simplified Prep

The herbs come in a cute little package with easy to pop out squares. Each square contains 1 teaspoon of the herbs, basically the perfect amount. How simple?

The Dorot squares are perfect for all sorts of recipes. I use the ginger for these Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops as well as smoothies and the herbs squares for stir fries and entrees. My base for any good recipe is garlic and these Dorot squares are perfect for throwing the pan to get the dish started on a tasty path!

You might be saying to yourself “great Mary Ellen, but where can I find these awesome little squares of goodness?”.  Glad you asked! You can find Dorot in many of your local supermarkets in the frozen food section! I got my Dorot at the Stop and Shop in my town and have pickup up some at other stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

I like that these cubes are frozen instead of fresh so that I can have them on hand anytime I need them. Dorot flash freezes the herbs so they have a two-year shelf life…not that they’d stay in my freezer for that long but it’s good to know you don’t have to run to the store every time you need fresh herbs – they will be right in your freezer. Fresh herbs all year long? Awww yeah.

Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops

Now that you know all about Dorot and why I love it, let’s get down to the tasty recipe. As I said above, I wanted to make a healthy and dairy-free version of orange creamsicles with as little ingredients as possible. But I also wanted to take the flavor up a notch from plain ol’ orange.

I had a ginger orange smoothie not too long ago and thought that would make a great base for my popsicle idea. The ginger really heightens the flavor of the orange and give it a tiny bit of a kick.

My Ginger Orange Creamsicle Pops only use 4 ingredients but taste even better than I remember the regular Orange Creamsicles tasting. I used frozen orange pulp, coconut milk, vanilla extract and 3-4 cubes of Dorot’s ginger cubes (depending on how much spice you like in your life).

They were so easy to make and much healthier than store-bought pops – none of that added sugar or artificial coloring.

You can check out how I made these in this video – easy peasy!
